Today, exactly four weeks after finding the new lump we have the outline of treatment plans. I have what I feel is the best of a worst case scenario.
First and foremost, thank you for all the prayers and good vibes sent my way and for all the support I continue to have. It means so much.
My Pet scan was negative and breast MRI confirmed local recurrence.
ER positive, and HER2 negative.
The outline of my treatment plan is as follows – my case will be presented by my medical oncologist Monday 2/3 at a “tumor board” where a lot of specialists get together and discuss what should be done for complex cases.
The basics of my treatment are as follows;
Surgery – to what extent is to be determined by the board
Radiation if an expert in the field believes it to be beneficial
Chemo (once every 3 weeks, for a total of 12 weeks)
Change tamoxifen to an aromatase inhibitor instead post chemo
I’m ready to kick ass and become an expert apparently on ALL the breast cancer treatment options.
(I picked up my MRI disk and brought it back to my medical oncologist to expedite when they could present my case to the tumor board! Always be your own advocate!!)
Until I have more details to share,
Sami ❤️
